Chicagoland, and wherever else you are
The studio is in Naperville and most of our clients are across Chicago and its suburbs. The towns below have their own page because we know them well enough to write one.
Grouped by direction rather than alphabetically, because that is how anybody actually looks for their own town. Household counts and incomes are the Census Bureau's 2020–2024 American Community Survey estimates.
Home patch
Where the studio actually is, and the towns either side of it.
- Naperville 54,847 households $155,105 median income Naperville runs on two very different kinds of trade. 3 live client sites
- Aurora 61,317 households $93,633 median income Aurora is the second largest city in Illinois and it spans four counties, which is a genuine problem for local search. 1 live client site
- Joliet 51,055 households $92,201 median income Joliet is one of the fastest-growing parts of the metro and a major freight and logistics hub, which gives it a business mix you do not see further north.
North and north-west
Up the Tri-State, thirty to forty minutes on a good day.
- Schaumburg 31,655 households $97,514 median income Schaumburg is built around retail and corporate offices rather than a walkable centre, which changes who your customer is.
- Arlington Heights 31,466 households $116,723 median income Arlington Heights has something most northwest suburbs do not: a genuine walkable downtown built around the Metra station, alongside the car-dependent corridors along Rand and Golf.
- Elgin 39,317 households $90,282 median income Elgin is an old manufacturing city that now runs on a much broader mix, and it splits sharply between the historic downtown by the Fox River and the newer retail and commercial sprawl out along Randall Road.
The near suburbs and the city edge
On or close to the Chicago border, where city and suburb stop being separable.
- Oak Park 23,387 households $110,820 median income Oak Park is directly on the Chicago city line and behaves like a city neighbourhood rather than a suburb.
- Cicero 24,432 households $70,842 median income Cicero sits directly against the west side of Chicago and is one of the most densely populated towns in the metro.
- Evanston 31,705 households $96,434 median income Evanston is the first suburb north of Chicago on the lake, and it runs on two clocks.
- Skokie 24,382 households $95,337 median income Skokie is one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse municipalities in Illinois, and its commerce reflects that street by street.

- Bolingbrook 23,959 households $108,400 median income Bolingbrook grew fast and recently, and it shows in the shape of the place: wide roads, retail anchored on the Promenade, and almost nothing that anybody walks past.
- Plainfield 14,634 households $144,000 median income Plainfield has been one of the fastest-growing villages in Illinois for the better part of two decades, and it has the two-speed character that comes with that.
- Oswego 12,243 households $123,792 median income Oswego sits on the Fox River in Kendall County, which spent much of the 2000s as one of the fastest-growing counties in the country.
- Glen Ellyn 10,698 households $140,938 median income Glen Ellyn is older, walkable and deliberately so.
- St. Charles 13,161 households $114,300 median income St.
- Oak Brook 3,061 households $175,870 median income Oak Brook is a village of about eight thousand residents that carries the weight of a much larger place.
Not on the list? It makes no difference to the work. We build for Chicago itself and for towns with no page here. Four of the sites on our work page were built for clients in Indore, Montreal and Delhi, and a project runs over calls and email wherever you happen to be. How we work is here, and the first call is fifteen minutes and free.
