Websites and marketing for auto repair and services
Can you look at it today, and roughly what will this cost me. Nothing else on a garage website is as valuable as those two answers.
A car problem is urgent, unplanned and priced in the dark. Garages win on being findable when something goes wrong and on being straight about cost — not on a list of services every garage also offers.
How customers actually find a garage
Almost entirely from the map, at the moment something breaks or fails an inspection. The search is short, the shortlist is three, and the decision is made on review count and whether somebody picks up the phone.
What they type
- mechanic near me
- brake repair [town]
- car inspection near me
- [make] specialist [town]
- how much to fix [problem]
Bracketed parts are wherever you are and whatever you sell. These are phrasings, not a keyword list to stuff into a page.
Four things auto repair and services get wrong online
-
No indication of price for common jobs
Fear of being overcharged is the defining anxiety in this trade. A garage that publishes typical costs for routine jobs disarms it, and the one that publishes nothing confirms the fear.
-
No specialism stated
Garages that quietly specialise in a make or a system rarely say so, and lose the searches where they would have been the obvious answer.
-
Reviews unanswered
This is a low-trust trade where a calm, specific reply to a bad review does more work than ten good ones. Most garages reply to neither.
-
Hours and availability unclear
Somebody with a car that will not start needs to know whether you can look at it today. "Mon to Fri 8 to 6" does not answer that, and a line about same-day diagnostics does.
If you change one thing
Staying silent on price. Every customer arrives expecting to be overcharged, and the garage that publishes a range for a brake job is the one that gets the call.
What we would work on
- Local visibility & lead generation Help nearby customers find you, trust you, and call you.
- Website design & development Turn visitors into calls, leads and customers.
- Paid advertising Immediate visibility, measured properly.
In that order, for this trade. The pricing is the same whatever sector you are in — a five-page site is $249 to build and $399 a year to keep running.
Have we done this before
Not in this trade yet. The work we have done is here, and the four problems above hold whichever trade the last client was in.

Questions from auto repair and services
Publish ranges for the routine jobs — brakes, servicing, inspections, tyres. Nobody expects a fixed price for a fault nobody has diagnosed yet, and everybody appreciates a garage that will say a number out loud.
On the things a dealership structurally cannot do: naming the mechanic, replying to reviews like a person, being reachable, and being honest about what does not need doing yet.
For the jobs people search for by name, yes. Brake repair, inspections and diagnostics are searched as distinct things, and a single services page will not rank for any of them.
They can be, for urgent work, as long as somebody answers the phone during the hours the ads run. Paying for clicks that reach voicemail is the most expensive mistake in this trade.
The Google Business Profile — photographs, hours, services, and a reply to every review. For a garage it is worth more than the website, because it is where the search actually ends.
No, and be wary of anyone who claims to specialise in 10 industries at once. What we have is a way of working that suits small businesses — fast sites, clear pricing, no contracts — and enough time spent on garage problems to know which of them are worth money. Where we have not done work in a sector, we say so rather than dressing up somebody else's case study.
With whichever of the four problems above you recognised. Most owners know the answer before they finish reading the list. If none of them landed, the fifteen-minute call is free and we will look at what you have got.

- Retail and Online Shops Do you have it, can I get it today, and can you tell me which one I want. The third is the one the marketplaces cannot answer.
- Restaurants and Cafés Are you open now, and what does the food actually look like. Everything else on a restaurant site is answering a question nobody asked.
